We're seeking a skilled Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team at The Essex Resort & Spa, nestled in the heart of Vermont's scenic countryside. As a key member of our hospitality team, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the smooth operation of our restaurants, ensuring seamless service and high-quality food.
  • Monitor and critique food quality and service levels, driving continuous improvement.
  • Hire, train, and develop a talented team of restaurant staff.
  • Forecast and schedule staff according to occupancy levels, ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Track payroll and revenue, maintaining accurate records and identifying areas for cost savings.
  • Coach and counsel staff to achieve exceptional performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of our restaurants, including inspecting tabletops and side-stations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with end-of-month inventory counts.
  • Order new products and supplies, maintaining a well-stocked restaurant.
  • Attend department head meetings, conferences, and pre-con meetings to stay informed and aligned with our food and beverage strategy.
  • Conduct timely performance evaluations of staff, providing constructive feedback and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain profitability through forecasting and staffing, driving business growth and success.
  • Communicate effectively with our Director of Food and Beverage, Director of Restaurants, and General Manager on upcoming events, promotions, and new products.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Provide a pleasant and efficient atmosphere for staff and guests, fostering a positive work environment.
