Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator I to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will act as a professional liaison for patients and families, care providers, and other Fred Hutch departments.
Responsibilities- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule all patient appointments related to treatment within Fred Hutch, as well as outside consults and referrals. Communicate schedules directly to patients and coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Patient Support: Work closely with patients, families, visitors, providers, and staff to identify needs, answer questions, resolve problems, provide information, and follow up.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with providers, technologists, and nurses regarding patient scheduling needs, treatment schedules, and additional requests. Notify appropriate parties as needed.
- Scheduling Management: Manage and prioritize scheduling requests, recognizing emergency situations and initiating correct code procedures.
- Department Support: Support the overall function of the department, taking on additional duties such as cross-coverage, special projects, and training new staff.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Skills: Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands. Proficient in word processing, email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment. Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS), minimum of 2 years of experience in a patient care setting, and experience with Epic or other scheduling and registration software.
