Job Description

Peraton is seeking an ambitious Senior Business Development Director with demonstrated success identifying and qualifying new business opportunities within the Maryland Procurement Office (MPO) marketspace.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Business Growth: Serve as the MPO growth lead focused on achieving new business sales goals.
  • Business Acquisition Process: Embrace the Peraton Business Acquisition Process in daily activities, and effectively manage and communicate all the opportunities and plans for management and technical teams.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Partner with Business Unit Leaders to identify and target new business markets, adjacencies, and partnerships which aligns with strategic growth plans.
  • Strategic Growth Plan: Develop and maintain an active strategic growth plan, and the associated pipeline, in alignment and consistent with corporate campaign strategy and goals.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and mature key customer relationships within the customer's organizations.
  • Customer Interface: Primary interface with customer community for assigned opportunities and customers.
  • Technology Solutions: Assist in guiding potential customers by demonstrating technology solutions, architectures, capabilities, and potential acquisition paths for early-stage opportunities, working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses for requests for information (RFI), market survey's, white papers, presentations, briefings, and major event demonstrations.
  • Business Development Team: Oversee a business development staff of direct and matrixed resources the engage in complex functional activities that will have a major impact on meaningful and measurable revenue growth through winning new business, contract.
  • Business Development Budget: Manage the business development budget. Develop and deliver required contract, departmental, project and/or financial reports.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPI) and a performance measurement framework.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel as required, as dictated by business need.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of professional experience.
  • MPO Customer Knowledge: Deep understanding of MPO customer missions and strategy across their entire enterprise.
  • Communication Skills: Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with clients.
  • Business Acquisition Process: Proven success with the full life cycle of the business acquisition process, from opportunity concept through pursuit, winning, program startup and ongoing execution.
  • Contract Winning: A demonstrated successful record of accomplishment of qualifying and winning contracts in excess of $100M.
  • Customer Engagement: Partners with VP of Growth to manage Customer Engagement / Bid & Proposal budgets.
  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Existing Relationships: Existing relationship with MPO customers.
  • Profit and Loss Experience: Profit & Loss/program management experience.

Target Salary Range:

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
