Job Description

We are seeking a P&C licensed Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting decisions that support department growth, profitability, and individual granted authority.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite renewal and new business activities to ensure consistent underwriting decisions.
  • Partner with Senior Underwriters to establish support needs for new and renewal business.
  • Review underwriting / pricing exhibits, including Account Summaries, Loss Runs, Internet Research, and Rate Sheets.
  • Manage and oversee account documentation, including Account Clearance, Acknowledgement Letters, Underwriting Documentation, and Closing Letters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely servicing of accounts in accordance with Department Service Standards.
  • Participate in projects/assignments as needed.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of underwriting files to ensure accounts are written in accordance with assigned Letters of Authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 2-4 years experience - Preferred
  • Strong understanding of various commercial insurance products, policies, and coverage options.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex business risks.
  • Proficient in insurance software, customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
