Position: EHS Compliance Coordinator

Shift: Day

Salary: $95K - $105K DOE

Location: West Columbia, SC

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Management:

• Prioritize safety in all operations.

• Adhere to all federal and state safety regulations along with company policies.

• Identify and report unsafe conditions; assist in remediation efforts.

• Facilitate MSHA inspections and maintain certification as the primary instructor.

• Ensure all new miners receive mandatory MSHA training.

• Organize annual refresher training and additional sessions as needed.

• Lead behavior-based safety observations and manage the employee-driven safety team.

• Conduct thorough safety inspections at both mine and plant locations.

• Develop and implement safety policies that align with corporate goals.

• Maintain compliance documentation as required by regulations.

• Perform random inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.

• Conduct quarterly dust sampling and noise exposure assessments.

• Design and deliver safety training programs for personnel.

• Investigate incidents and provide reports with recommendations for improvement.

• Disseminate hazard alerts related to safety incidents.

• Oversee the random drug testing program.

• Manage accident reporting and workers' compensation claims.

• Schedule annual health assessments for employees.

• Review process changes and conduct Job Hazard Analyses as necessary.

• Order safety supplies and manage contractor safety programs.

• Ensure all employee training records are current.

• Track safety metrics and ensure accurate representation in reports.

Environmental Management:

• Comply with all environmental regulations to prevent hazardous waste exposure.

• Maintain air quality management systems for compliance with permits.

• Collaborate with corporate EHS leadership on permit modifications.

• Document and report unplanned emissions to relevant authorities.

• Accompany inspectors during environmental assessments.

• Maintain compliance documentation for hazardous waste management.

• Train personnel on hazardous waste generation protocols.

• Monitor compliance with universal waste regulations.

• Ensure adherence to spill prevention plans and training.

• Conduct groundwater monitoring to support environmental assessments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Environmental Health or Safety is preferred.

• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in safety management.

• Certifications in emissions monitoring, CPR/First Aid, and hazardous waste management are required.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
