Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at Sutter Health.

Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: 28 hours per week

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day

Benefits: Yes

Unions: No

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate activities related to attracting, recruiting, orienting, training, coordinating, and retaining volunteers.
  • Collaborate with others to coordinate services, streamline work flow, standardize procedures, and drive positive outcomes.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and problem solving skills to deliver excellent customer service results in a timely manner.
  • Gains confidence and cooperation from peers, supervisors and customers through effective communication and competent job performance.
  • Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal customer service.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • General understanding of customer service principals, healthcare processes and operations, including knowledge of basic risk management.
  • Possess outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Broad knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
Working Conditions

This position may regularly work, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drug(s) identified as hazardous, or potentially hazardous, by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.
