As a Medication Administration Specialist, you will be instrumental in promoting the health and safety of our residents, providing essential support in their daily lives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all required training and orientation programs as mandated by the community and state regulations.
  • Administer medications accurately, maintaining precise records and notifying nursing staff of any self-administered medications as per regulations.
  • Manage the ordering and receipt of medications in accordance with state laws and company policies.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, in alignment with their personalized service plans.
  • Monitor residents for changes in health status and preferences, promptly reporting any concerns to the nursing team.
  • Support residents in maintaining their living spaces and assist with laundry needs as outlined in their service plans.
  • Facilitate resident participation in activities and programs that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
  • Document all services provided, including any incidents or unusual occurrences, in the community's tracking system.
Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient in using computers for documentation and communication.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Completed training as required by state regulations for medication administration, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Experience in direct care, particularly with seniors experiencing cognitive impairments, is preferred.
  • Current certification or license as a Medication Aide or similar role as per state requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to assist residents with mobility and personal care needs.
  • Willingness to engage with residents and provide compassionate care.
