About Our Team:

We are the Justice Information Technology Services (JITS) team, providing essential IT infrastructure to support the Montana Attorney General's office. Our collaborative team plays a crucial role in maintaining the technology that enables state and local law enforcement to operate efficiently. We support approximately 900 employees and over 3,000 customers within the Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN), making a significant impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage IT Systems: Develop comprehensive plans and system requirements to implement and oversee IT systems that facilitate DOJ operations and meet customer needs. Lead and Collaborate: Guide and mentor junior IT engineers in troubleshooting technical issues, fostering a highly collaborative environment where every team member's input is valued. Enhance Processes: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and improve operational processes. Document and Report: Maintain thorough documentation and promote teamwork, recognizing the importance of cross-training and communication among IT teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Strong foundational knowledge of computer hardware, including PCs, servers, storage, and networking. Proven experience in developing and implementing complex IT systems.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of education in Information Technology. At least three years of relevant experience in a network or systems administrator capacity. A valid Driver License or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Skills:

Extensive understanding of computer science principles, including software development, systems and network administration, and security management. Experience with project planning and management. Proficiency in managing complex IT projects and resolving advanced technical issues. Familiarity with VMware, Cisco technologies, NetAPP Storage, and Microsoft 365 will be considered advantageous.
