Position Summary:

  • This role is situated within our Advanced Safety & User Experience division.
  • The ideal Automotive Systems Issue Resolution Engineer possesses a proactive attitude, thrives in a hands-on environment, and is adept at managing multiple projects while ensuring high levels of satisfaction for both internal and external engineering teams.
  • As an Automotive Systems Issue Resolution Engineer, you will be tasked with assessing all system performance and compliance challenges at the VSYS4 and VSYS5 levels.
  • Your collaboration will involve working closely with vehicle system test engineers, integration engineers, and the problem management team to clarify issue ownership identified during vehicle assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system design specifications.
  • Assess issues identified during VSYS4 and VSYS5 testing phases and allocate ownership to the appropriate teams for resolution.
  • Coordinate the design of test cases to align with system requirements.
  • Automate the detection of potential issues during VSYS4 and VSYS5 evaluations.
  • Manage issue triage during vehicle preparation, summarize findings, and coordinate with internal engineers and external clients.
  • Review and enhance the instrumentation used for VSYS4 and VSYS5.
  • Identify and document recurring failure patterns and potential process inefficiencies during product development.
  • Evaluate test data processing scripts.

Qualifications:

  • Practical experience with CAN networks.
  • Fundamental understanding of vehicle components and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as MATLAB and Python.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation abilities.
  • Quick to learn with robust documentation skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in ADAS system development.
  • Familiarity with common vehicle sensors, including radar and cameras.
  • Understanding of signal processing and vehicle dynamics.
  • Knowledge of the product development lifecycle and associated responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in issue triage and debugging.
  • Familiarity with additional vehicle communication protocols, such as Ethernet and LIN.
  • Experience in drafting requirements and test cases.
  • Proficient with issue tracking systems like Jira.
  • Experience using Canoe.
  • Background in software debugging for embedded systems.
  • Understanding of C++ and Simulink.
  • Knowledge of functional safety principles.
  • Familiarity with Automotive SPICE standards.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related automotive fields.
