POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager of Branch Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the Branch Manager by overseeing the branch's daily functions, ensuring top-notch customer service, and meeting financial goals. This position includes supervising personnel, managing resources, and driving sales growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Branch Manager in organizing and directing daily operations while ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of sales strategies aimed at achieving branch and corporate objectives.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to staff to foster skill enhancement and career progression.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
  • Address customer grievances and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Oversee financial activities of the branch, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to maintain profitability.
  • Facilitate communication between branch personnel and upper management, serving as a conduit for concerns and suggestions.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to cultivate a positive workplace atmosphere.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new team members.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in management or sales, or a suitable combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or a related field is advantageous.
  • Understanding of sales principles and methods is essential.
  • Familiarity with customer service principles is required.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques is necessary.
  • Understanding of company products and their applications is required.
  • Familiarity with the metals industry is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and utilize time efficiently is required.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond to inquiries from various stakeholders are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong listening and analytical skills are essential.
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities are required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations is necessary.
  • Ability to make informed decisions based on analysis and experience is required.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and clients is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily involves sedentary work, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. The role is performed in a controlled office environment.
