Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Maintenance Operations Supervisor to oversee our Plant 1 operations.

Work Schedule: This role involves working on Fridays and Mondays from 5 AM to 2 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 5 AM to 6 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance personnel during shifts, including a lead mechanic.
  • Identify and propose enhancements within the department and for equipment or facilities to boost production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to the Preventive Maintenance Program and Maintenance Work Orders by the team.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for mechanics and equipment.
  • Collaborate with Refrigeration Operators and Supervisors as necessary.
  • Work alongside the Maintenance Manager on various projects to ensure they are executed safely and effectively.
  • Coordinate with contractors to guarantee compliance with company policies.
  • Utilize downtime records to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety programs by employees and contractors.
  • Maintain and update training records for all employees as required.
  • Keep accurate logs for equipment, timesheets, and scheduled days off.
  • Plan projects, procure parts, and manage rebuilds.
  • Be flexible to work any shift to cover for absent management.
  • Maintain records for inspections and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly oversee shift personnel in the Maintenance Department, executing supervisory duties in line with organizational policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning and directing work, performance appraisal, and addressing employee concerns.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively.

Education and Experience: A one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or six to twelve months of relevant experience or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively with groups.

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic and able to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to tackle practical problems and interpret various instructions in different formats.

Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with Internet software, inventory management systems, order processing systems, payroll systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Other Skills: The supervisor should possess the foresight to identify potential equipment or facility issues, assist mechanics in troubleshooting, and support machine repairs as needed.

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular communication, frequent standing, walking, and handling of equipment. The ability to lift and move weights ranging from 25 to 75 pounds is essential.

Work Environment: Employees may encounter wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to various weather conditions. The noise level is typically loud.
