Job Overview

The primary role of the Technical Sales Specialist is to foster and sustain positive and mutually advantageous relationships between Amada America, Inc. and its clientele, while actively pursuing new business opportunities within the assigned region. This role encompasses all facets of the relationship, including product sales, service, and post-sale support. The Technical Sales Specialist is expected to optimize product sales by leveraging the "Amada Team," which includes Product Specialists, Applications & Verification personnel, Service, and support teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive product sales and meet all sales and activity objectives.
  • Educate customers on the latest technologies and innovations offered by Amada.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to established clients.
  • Proactively identify and cultivate new accounts through industry resources and outreach efforts.
  • Facilitate and conduct customer demonstrations at Solution and Technical Centers.
  • Enhance customer engagement and participation in events hosted at Solution and Technical Centers.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Regional Manager.
  • Ensure all necessary sales documentation is obtained from clients and coordinate the sales order process with relevant Amada departments for efficient order processing.
  • Utilize Amada's internal knowledge management system to maintain an accurate database of customers and prospects, updating contact information and customer status as needed.
  • Stay informed about product knowledge, pricing, and updates.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare special reports as required.
  • Assist with various tasks within the department.

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE $72,000 base salary plus commission

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • Reports to Regional Manager

  • None

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent sales experience.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficient in computer applications (word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g., PowerPoint and Excel) for sales presentations.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with attention to detail.
