The Technical Sales Consultant is tasked with cultivating a long-lasting relationship with designated Public Safety clients to guarantee their success and maximize the benefits of Panasonic's offerings. This position emphasizes several core areas: technical pre-sales, project implementation, resolution of technical issues, post-sales assistance, short-term consulting, customer satisfaction, and technical account oversight. The ideal candidate should reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

  • Actively collaborate with assigned sales team members to enhance the TOUGHBOOK business and integrate into the sales process.
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of TOUGHBOOK solutions, encompassing hardware, software, accessories, and services.
  • Assess customers' current and future technical needs and strategically position TOUGHBOOK products to meet those needs.
  • Offer technical and project guidance to ensure successful customer projects, including collaboration with Panasonic's Microsoft tools, ISVs, MDMs, partners, and third parties.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with customers and partners to ensure satisfaction and uncover new business prospects.
  • Work alongside assigned sales team members to identify opportunities for enhancing client engagement.
  • Lead discussions on Customer Success Initiatives with clients to evaluate device performance, address challenges, and explore current and future projects.
  • Manage incidents and general issues, providing hands-on technical support as necessary.
  • Oversee client case management using streamlined project management methodologies and various reporting tools.
  • Coordinate technical resources to address complex issues and provide detailed answers to customer configuration inquiries, with support from an extended team.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • A preferred B.S. Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of 3 years in Sales Support or a comparable customer-facing role.
  • Industry certifications from Microsoft, Google, or Cisco are preferred.
  • Project and IT management certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CBAP are advantageous.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 7/8/10 and Server OS).
  • Familiarity with hardware driver staging in MDT/SCCM.
  • Understanding of mobile device management.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Powershell, Javascript, or VBScript.
  • Experience with various computer operating systems, including Linux.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise IT environments.
  • Proven experience throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Exceptional customer support, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Experience in or with Public Safety IT environments.
  • Basic understanding of different CAD and RMS vendors and their solution implementations.
  • Familiarity with CGIS requirements and their implications for TOUGHBOOK products.
  • Knowledge of the Panasonic TOUGHBOOK brand.
  • Technical consulting experience.
  • Extensive experience with PC hardware.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
  • Significant integration experience with System Center technologies.
  • Experience with medium to large SCCM, SCOM, and/or SCVMM enterprise design, implementations, and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of SCOM System Build, Deployment, and Governance.
  • Deep technical expertise in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, or VMWare virtualization.
  • MCSE or MCITP: Server or Enterprise Administrator certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Intune or other Mobile Device Management solutions.

Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Capable of effective troubleshooting in high-pressure situations, achieving complete problem resolution in post-sale support.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, essential for interfacing effectively with all organizational levels and management, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments (Technical Support, PMO, Sales, Product Teams, Spare Parts, Engineering, Order Processing, Accounting, etc.).

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds (22.7 kg), stand for extended periods, and navigate factory production environments and confined spaces for technical tasks.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (often 65% or more), both domestically and internationally, often on short notice, and to work flexible hours based on project needs.

The salary range of $75,000 – $105,000 is one aspect of Panasonic's comprehensive compensation package. Actual compensation may vary based on individual knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
