About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team in Panorama City, California.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the Surgical Technologist Level II will assist in surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, maintaining a safe environment, and adhering to standard precautions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, including passing instruments, cutting sutures, and holding retractors.
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the medical center, utilizing proper body mechanics.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, including planning, measuring, and assessing.
  • Assist with transfer, transport, and stabilization of patients within the scope of competency.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, containers, and equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and report defective equipment upon discovery.
  • Utilize computer systems effectively and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience within the last three years operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience, including a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery from National Center for Competency Testing.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
