Job Summary:

As a Sterile Processing Technician II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical equipment and supplies. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store, and distribute medical/surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Fill orders from requesting departments and ensure timely delivery of equipment and supplies.
  • Inventory and restock supplies, including specialty carts and equipment.
  • Perform instrument and equipment tracking, including documentation of tests and sterilizer records.
  • Examine and maintain the integrity of sterile packages.
  • Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards on all surgical procedures.
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician in an acute hospital setting.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) and completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program or Surgical Technician program.
  • Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification or Registered Central Service Technician Certificate or Surgical Technologist Certificate.

This is an on-call position, and days and hours may vary. The primary location is Panorama City Medical Center, with a scheduled weekly hour of 1.
