Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the Surgical Technologist will assist in surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, including preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
  • Provide exceptional patient care by communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, including planning, measuring, and assessing processes to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program or equivalent military experience.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills.
  • Experience working in an operating room environment.
  • Ability to float to other areas within the scope of competency.
