About this position:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Controls Analyst to be part of our Enterprise COSO testing division. This team plays a crucial role in the first line of defense within Finance, focusing on evaluating business process controls that address financial, regulatory, and non-financial reporting risks. This position offers extensive exposure to key stakeholders involved in external financial and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough walkthroughs of significant processes to ensure that COSO documentation is precise and accurately reflects associated risks and essential controls.
  • Execute testing of critical controls, including assessments of design effectiveness and operational effectiveness.
  • Scrutinize and validate documentation of control deficiencies, detailing issue descriptions, root causes, unmitigated impacts, and corrective measures.
  • Evaluate the severity of control deficiencies, both individually and collectively, and their implications for internal control over financial reporting.
  • Assess the components of internal control relevant to applicable business units.
  • Track open control deficiencies and confirm the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Controls Testing, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in internal control testing.
  • Background in Big Four public accounting.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, achieve objectives, and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
