Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Controls Analyst to contribute to our Enterprise COSO testing team. This team is integral to the first line of defense in Finance, focusing on evaluating business process controls that address financial, regulatory, and non-financial reporting risks. This position offers broad exposure to key stakeholders involved in external financial and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive walkthroughs of significant processes, ensuring that necessary COSO documentation is precise and accurately reflects associated risks and essential controls.
  • Execute testing of critical controls, which includes assessments of design effectiveness and operational effectiveness.
  • Critically assess and validate documentation of control deficiencies, detailing issue descriptions, root causes, unmitigated impacts, and proposed corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the severity of control deficiencies, both on an individual basis and collectively, and their implications for internal control over financial reporting.
  • Review the components of internal control relevant to applicable business units.
  • Track open control deficiencies and verify the implementation of corrective measures.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Controls Testing, or a combination of relevant work experience, training, military experience, and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in internal control testing.
  • Background in Big Four public accounting.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, achieve objectives, and perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
