About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Care Coordinator to join our team at Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging from late childhood through late adolescence.

The successful candidate will spend most of their time on the unit, ensuring the safety of residents and offering encouragement and guidance to promote compliance with programming. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Milieu Manager.

Job Description

The Child and Adolescent Care Coordinator functions as an active part of the treatment team, responsible for:

  • Providing continuous patient care and supervision
  • Ensuring resident safety and promoting compliance with programming
  • Collaborating with the Direct Care Supervisor and other team members to provide individualized treatment goals for each patient

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, or a related therapeutic field preferred
  • Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred but may not necessarily be required
  • Maintain a valid Indiana driver's license; CPR, First Aid certification, and successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in a seclusion/restraint intervention
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible hours; age requirement of 21 years due to licensure and clientele served
