We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents. This role is a critical part of our treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from late childhood through late adolescence.

About the Role

The Mental Health Technician will work under the direction of the Direct Care Supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the residents, providing encouragement and guidance to ensure compliance with programming, and participating in seclusion/restraint interventions as needed.

In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients and their families. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healthy behaviors and coping skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including supervising activities, providing emotional support, and promoting socialization
  • Assist with medication administration, as directed by licensed nursing staff
  • Participate in group and individual therapy sessions, as directed by licensed therapists
  • Document patient progress and report concerns to supervisors
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience working with psychiatric patients preferred but not required
  • CPR, First Aid certification, and successful completion of HWC within 90 days of employment
  • Must maintain a valid Indiana driver's license

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans, short- and long-term disability options, 401(k) with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
