We are currently seeking a Project Leader to join our dynamic and innovative team within the Education sector. This role is available in our Austin or San Antonio offices. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned architect who is enthusiastic about guiding a team of skilled designers and architects through complex projects in a stimulating work atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulate competitive fee structures that accurately reflect the defined scope of services for project pursuits.
  • Establish and oversee project timelines.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Anticipate, comprehend, and manage client expectations effectively.
  • Provide guidance to team members by defining roles and responsibilities, leveraging their strengths, offering mentorship, and creating growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate open discussions with the project team regarding design and technical ideation, leading to appropriate solutions.
  • Inspire the project team to achieve project objectives through encouragement and strategic adjustments.
  • Supervise the administration of construction phase procedures and documentation.
  • Oversee the development and presentation of suitable technical solutions to project stakeholders.
  • Drive collaboration among internal staff, external consultants, and other stakeholders to create a cohesive project team.
  • Conduct and participate in presentations.
  • Actively seek and identify new business opportunities through professional networks.
  • Encourage each project team to pursue innovative design solutions with a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement.
  • Develop effective project directives, outlines, projections, schedules, and strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage the development and communication of appropriate project phasing.
  • Oversee all aspects of project production to ensure comprehensive documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.
  • Understand and apply relevant industry standards and construction practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements and address code-related design issues.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and maintain quality control of project documents.
  • Demonstrate and apply new methodologies, practices, codes, and products effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of and appropriately apply new methodologies, practices, codes, and products.
  • Manage client relationships.
  • Provide leadership to staff members.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree from an NAAB accredited program or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial design, with a strong preference for experience in the education sector.
  • Professional registration.
  • High commitment to quality assurance and quality control.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how a drawing set is assembled.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and the ability to apply this knowledge to support project design and budget.
  • Proficient in researching and documenting codes for specific projects.
  • Experience managing various consultants and contractors.
  • Interest in sustainable design practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and flexible attitude.
  • Proficiency in managing overall project fees and schedules.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Efficient in coordinating project deliverables and client expectations.
