WATG is seeking a Senior Architectural Project Leader to join our dynamic team.

ROLE

The Senior Architectural Project Leader is a licensed architect responsible for overseeing project deliverables, ensuring the technical integrity of documentation, implementing feedback, conducting quality assurance reviews, and coordinating with various disciplines, including consultants. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse project team and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and contractors. This role reports to the Project Manager and Project Designer, focusing on project performance and team collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guarantees that the overall design vision established by the Project Designer is reflected in the detailed project documentation.
  • Oversees the design process from conceptualization through construction administration, ensuring the design intent is faithfully executed.
  • Responsible for the technical resolution and coordination of specific project components, including the integration of drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews the accuracy and thoroughness of reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
  • Coordinates and manages shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants.
  • Prepares correspondence and documentation for consultants and vendors to communicate changes and track resolutions.
  • Documents minutes from consultant coordination meetings.
  • Organizes project documents and identifies the necessary sheets for each project phase, including the organization of data into files and elements for Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Promotes and sustains a collaborative professional relationship with the project team.
  • Facilitates communication with other service lines, vendors, and contractors to ensure all project requirements are met, providing support as needed.
  • Manages construction details to uphold quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
  • Supervises the preparation of technical drawings by team members.
  • Guides the work of team members, offering mentoring and professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
  • Professional license is mandatory.
  • Environmental accreditation is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience managing small to mid-sized architectural projects, including urban and resort hotels, mixed-use developments, and renovation projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit is essential.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUp, is advantageous.
  • Sketching skills are required.
  • Advanced understanding of architectural building systems, integrated design, construction methodologies, QA/QC processes, and building codes.
  • Experience in client management and negotiations is necessary.
  • Effective project management skills, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment with experience in supervising teams.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel may be required.
