Position Overview:

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) plays a crucial role in responding to various medical emergencies and providing essential care during patient transport. This position requires adherence to established protocols and the ability to perform under pressure while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to a range of medical and traumatic emergencies, facilitating inter-facility transfers as needed.
  • Deliver emergency medical assistance at the scene, during transport, and upon arrival at medical facilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Execute AEMT-level life support procedures effectively and efficiently.
  • Engage in additional duties related to both emergency and non-emergency medical care, contributing to the overall development of the emergency medical system.

Specific Duties:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment at the start of each shift and after every call, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking as necessary.
  • Respond to emergencies with caution, adhering to local laws and regulations while prioritizing safety.
  • Provide high-quality medical care in accordance with established protocols and maintain effective communication with other medical personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with Advanced Life Support (ALS) personnel, fostering professional relationships within the emergency medical community.
  • Prioritize patient care and safety, acting in the best interests of patients and the organization.
  • Document all patient interactions and care provided, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in community education and public relations initiatives as directed by management.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and recertification as required by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:
  • Must be currently registered as an AEMT with the appropriate state authority.
  • Hold current CPR certification from a recognized organization.
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and the ability to work independently.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients safely, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
