Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Emergency Medical Technician PRN I is responsible for delivering immediate emergency care and ongoing treatment to patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This role involves operating in both pre-hospital and hospital environments, adhering to the established Paramedic training standards set by state regulations. The position requires working under the direct oversight of a registered nurse or physician, as authorized by the hospital's Medical Executive Professional Committee. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Paramedic for both Ambulance Services and the Emergency Department.
  • Complete necessary documentation for Ambulance Services in compliance with EMS and hospital protocols.
  • Ensure the maintenance and readiness of ambulances and medical equipment.
  • Engage in the EMS Performance Improvement Process.
  • Deliver patient-centered care.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery.
  • Achieve assigned performance objectives.
Qualifications and Experience

Licensure and Certification

Required: BLS Certification within 14 days of employment; ACLS; Paramedic certification.

Essential Skills

Required: A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record as per Ambulance Service Fleet Safety Policies, including completion of EVOC or EMD training as mandated by the operating state. (Class F)
