Job Summary

Vital Medical Transport is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic to join our team. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced emergency and non-emergency medical care to patients in a variety of settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Treat Patients: Assess patients' conditions and determine the best course of treatment, providing care that meets the standards of Vital Medical Transport's approved Standing Medical Orders.
  • Administer Medications: Administer medications as outlined in the Vital Medical Transport approved Standing Medical Orders.
  • Transport Patients: Safely transport patients between facilities, using backboards and restraints as necessary to keep patients still and safe during transport.
  • Document Patient Care: Create a patient care report, fully documenting the medical care given to each patient.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Replace used supplies and check or clean equipment after each use.
  • Drive Ambulance: Safely drive an ambulance, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Must be 18 years of age or older, have a High School Diploma or GED, and hold a valid State of Tennessee Paramedic License.
  • Skills and Experience: Must have skills and experience with a high proficiency at the BLS level of service, as well as interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
  • Certifications: Must hold current CPR Certification and may be required to hold additional certifications such as ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS, or National Registry Certification.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Work Environment: Work involves exposure to the elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
  • Physical Demands: Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100lbs, and repeated standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting up to 100 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
