Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Treat Patients: Evaluate patient conditions, determine courses of treatment, and administer medications as outlined in Vital Medical Transport's approved Standing Medical Orders.
  • Provide Transportation: Safely transport patients between facilities, using backboards and restraints as necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Document Patient Care: Create and maintain accurate patient care reports, documenting medical care provided and observations.
  • Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Regularly check and clean equipment, replacing used supplies as needed.
  • Drive Ambulance: Safely operate an ambulance, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years old and hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensure and Certification: Hold a valid State of Tennessee EMT-Basic license and current CPR certification.
  • Skills and Experience: Possess strong interpersonal skills, including compassion, listening, and communication. Demonstrate problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Hold PHTLS, ITLS, or National Registry certifications.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to Elements: Work in various environments, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
  • Physical Activity: Engage in extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 150 pounds.
  • Standing and Lifting: Stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift up to 150 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
