Position Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is actively seeking multiple Intensive Care Nurse Specialists to provide essential support within a prominent healthcare system. Nurses may also be required to deliver services at various outpatient facilities. A variety of shift schedules are available, and it is important to note that assigned schedules may be subject to change based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The Intensive Care Nurse Specialists will deliver services in alignment with the policies of the healthcare system where they are assigned. The responsibilities include:
  • Delivering critical care nursing to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Gathering patient and relevant family medical histories
  • Evaluating patient conditions and formulating appropriate nursing care plans
  • Documenting care plans and interventions in the patient's medical records
  • Ensuring accurate transcription of physician orders; verbal orders are not accepted
  • Executing prescribed physician orders and documenting actions in the medical record
  • Communicating significant patient information to the Charge Nurse and/or Physician as necessary
  • Reassessing patient conditions and adjusting care plans based on identified issues
  • Administering medications and Intravenous (IV) therapies
  • Possessing knowledge of emergency medications and their locations
  • Assessing and documenting patient responses to administered medications
  • Interpreting cardiac rhythms and understanding their implications
  • Initiating appropriate emergency measures and procedures as required
  • Educating patients and families on prescribed treatments and procedures
  • Assessing the knowledge level of patients and families, implementing educational plans, and documenting understanding
  • Operating emergency medical equipment such as defibrillators and cardiac monitors
  • Caring for patients with specialized medical devices
  • Participating in discharge planning processes
  • Initiating life-saving measures in the absence of physicians
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of prepared reports
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Consistently applying customer service standards, demonstrating respect and courtesy
  • Upholding patient rights, including privacy considerations
  • Reviewing laboratory data and electronic medical records
  • Managing medication titration as necessary
  • Performing routine care for feeding tubes and urinary catheters
  • Ensuring continuity of care by reviewing medication orders from previous shifts

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse academic program (BSN or ADN)
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in at least one state or territory of the United States
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in Critical Care nursing is required
  • No sponsorship is available

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach overhead during shifts
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Capacity to carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs of force
