WHAT IS THE ROLE?
The Corporate Banking Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Banking Credit team by providing insights and recommendations for new credit applications and credit extensions. This position involves thorough research, detailed analysis, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete. Additionally, the analyst will engage in ongoing monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of the portfolio of completed transactions. This entry-level role is designed for individuals to cultivate their credit analysis capabilities and gain foundational knowledge of commercial corporate lending principles, alongside relevant banking regulations and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive credit analysis and investigation for new and renewed loans. Gathers and submits necessary documentation and financial data for Credit Officers to assess, evaluate, and determine suitable credit structures and terms for prospective borrowers.
- Monitors the receipt of documents and performs evaluations on the information related to credits. This includes analyzing financial statements of the company, its owners, and/or guarantors, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and covenants to identify strengths and weaknesses in a borrower's financial standing.
- Provides analytical support related to due diligence, document processing, and financial statement assessments associated with transactions, credit approvals, and renewals. Prepares summaries that document factual analyses and supporting information for credit decision recommendations.
- Reviews reports and collaborates with other Credit team members to gather essential information, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in credit or financial analysis is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment is necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver clear and concise recommendations based on analytical findings.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Basic understanding of banking policies and procedures.
- Preferred experience includes internships in credit and/or financial analysis.
- Requires familiarity with relevant banking laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
- Completion of remedial coursework through CNB Credit Boot Camp is required.
Starting base salary: $50.14 per hour. Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
