We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Analyst to join our team at Western Alliance Bank. As a key member of our Affordable Housing Team, you will play a critical role in analyzing, structuring, and underwriting complex commercial loans.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to perform financial statement analyses, typically involving complex and interlocking relationships.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly tracking and draw requests related to the multifamily and Direct Pay Letter of Credit products.
- Complete annual reviews on existing multifamily and Direct Pay Letter of Credit products, inclusive of property level & guarantor financial analysis.
- Assist underwriters and business development officers in obtaining information needed to underwrite the credit requests.
- Assist in the preparation of any reports required by the line of business.
- Perform industry analysis and provide recommendations.
- Inform CCO/Loan Officers of relevant trends of specific loans, portfolios or industries.
- Provide credit information and references for customers, loan officers, or other agencies as requested.
- Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year college or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
- 1-3 years Commercial underwriting experience at a financial institution.
- Exceptional credit knowledge and underwriting skills in Commercial Real Estate lending.
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.
- Strong portfolio management skills allowing for timely identification of credit concerns by bringing items of concern to the Relationship Manager's attention.
- Outstanding presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent ability to juggle multiple credit requests at once.
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude and an upbeat positive outlook.
