Position: Senior Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee audits of business processes that support operational and financial functions, including resource allocation, scoping, and reviewing team outputs.
  • Conduct detailed control tests using the COSO control framework.
  • Assist external auditors by performing reliance testing that supports the company’s internal control assessment as per the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX).
  • Identify, assess, and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Document audit findings in a clear and organized manner, adhering to established departmental standards.
  • Analyze facts and trends to develop practical recommendations for addressing control deficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare audit reports and memoranda to effectively communicate audit outcomes.
  • Engage in special projects or investigations as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor audit staff in a collaborative environment.
  • Stay informed about current accounting and auditing trends and evaluate their relevance to Brunswick.
  • This role requires approximately 30-40% travel to various Brunswick Corporation locations, both domestically and internationally.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in public accounting or internal auditing.
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and judgment skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, from entry-level staff to senior executives.
  • Capability to balance business needs with objectivity and independence.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate audit team members.
  • Ability to work within a matrix structure, reporting to multiple senior managers based on engagement.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the COSO control framework and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS); familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to evaluate management responses and action plans to mitigate risks.
  • Effective project and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CMA, CISA, or CFE are preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and international operations with a U.S. public company is advantageous.
  • Experience in fraud investigations is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of data analytics is a plus.
  • Experience with audit software tools, such as Diligent, is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is an asset.
