Position Overview
The Senior Event Planner plays a crucial role in collaborating with senior management teams from strategic business units to enhance the meetings and events management process. This position focuses on identifying synergies and best practices across different brands and therapeutic areas while finding cost-effective solutions for convention marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ tracking and measurement tools to assess the qualitative and quantitative effectiveness of expenditures across all therapeutic areas.
- Oversee, report, and forecast annual budgets for brand meetings.
- Coordinate with Compliance to monitor all compliance-related expenditures and reporting obligations.
- Ensure the integrity of all healthcare professional (HCP) interactions at conventions and related meetings in line with corporate guidelines and policies.
- Supervise vendor compliance with relevant policies and procedures, particularly those related to regulatory and compliance of promotional materials and HCP interactions.
- Communicate and enforce International Congress/Event Guidelines where applicable.
- Act as the program lead for national and global meeting/event initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing brand stakeholders, financial controllers, procurement, and vendor partners.
- Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to identify program synergies and opportunities, ensuring consistent service and messaging across all convention programs.
- Research and propose efficiencies in logistics, technologies, procedures, and industry-related solutions.
Work Environment:
Significant work activities involve continuous sitting for extended periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communication, organizational leadership, or a related field, along with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred experience in convention planning, including staff and vendor management.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven track record in managing both small and large-scale projects.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate a cross-cultural and complex matrix environment and build consensus across functions without direct authority.
- Analytical mindset, results-oriented, self-organized, and a self-starter.
- Proven results-oriented approach with a history of achieving objectives.
- Adaptable and capable of driving change in a dynamic environment.
