Position: Senior Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead audits of business processes that support operational and financial activities, including resource planning, scoping, and reviewing team members' work products.
  • Conduct detailed control tests using the COSO control framework.
  • Assist external auditors by performing reliance testing that supports the company's internal control assessment in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Identify, assess, and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency.
  • Document audit findings in a clear and organized manner, adhering to established departmental standards.
  • Analyze facts and trends to formulate practical recommendations for control deficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare audit reports and memorandums to effectively communicate audit results.
  • Participate in or assist with special projects and investigations as needed.
  • Supervise and mentor audit staff in a collaborative environment.
  • Stay updated on current accounting and auditing trends and assess their relevance to Brunswick.
  • This position requires approximately 30-40% travel to various Brunswick locations, both domestic and international.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in public accounting or internal audit.
  • Strong relationship management, communication skills, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, from clerical staff to senior executives.
  • Capacity to balance business needs with objectivity and independence.
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise, mentor, and motivate audit team members.
  • Ability to function in a matrix structure, reporting to multiple senior managers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the COSO control framework and generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Effective project and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CMA, CISA, or CFE.
  • Experience in manufacturing and international settings with a U.S. public company.
  • Experience in fraud investigation.
  • Familiarity with data analytics.
  • Experience with audit software tools.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is advantageous.
