Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Fast Pace Health. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining financial records, preparing timely and accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in reviewing complex journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations for monthly close and year-end close, as assigned, to meet assigned closing deadlines.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure that all month-end close deadlines are met, and all entries are prepared and booked accurately and timely.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Ensure that the fixed assets policies and procedures are being followed, and depreciation expense is calculated and booked accurately and reviewed to the general ledger.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the inventory process is being followed, and inventory count adjustments are reasonable, and inventory reconciliations are completed accurately, ensuring FIFO procedures are followed.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform review of balance sheet reconciliations, as assigned.
  • Team Management: Train and provide guidance to all levels of accountants, manage teams' workload to ensure all deadlines will be met.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze financial results, on a consolidated basis or business segment, and prepare variance analysis reports to explain budget to actuals and variance to trend.
  • Financial Audits: Assist with management of audit by preparing, compiling, and reviewing documentation for the auditors and corresponding with the auditors to provide requested information.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist with tax preparation and tax audits, as assigned.
  • Accounting Systems: Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, manage and maintain software within the department.
  • Due Diligence: Assist with due diligence accounting.
  • Accounting Policies: Work with Assistant Controller to develop accounting policies, procedures, and department goals.
  • Process Documentation: Document processes and procedures throughout the department.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Build cross-functional relationships with senior managers and corporate department, regional, and clinical leaders to improve the accuracy of financials.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively drive continuous improvement in the financial statement preparation.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate an appropriate understanding and working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, lead the team to implement and adhere to policies, procedures, and systems to ensure timely processing of financial statements.
  • Team Development: Interviews candidates for positions that report to the Accounting Manager as necessary, responsible for overseeing and training for positions that report to the Manager, supporting and coaching for those that report within the respective teams.
  • Performance Management: Responsible for overseeing performance and any related counseling of positions that report to the Manager, up to and including recommendation for termination of employment.
  • Recognition and Rewards: Recognizes strong individual and team performance in support of our values and company goals.
  • Special Projects: Assists with special projects, as assigned.
  • Annual Review: Responsible for overseeing annual review process for positions that report to the Manager.
  • Staffing: Analyze labor and work volume to determine staff level and coordinates with Assistant Controller to meet work volume demands.
  • Reporting: Creates, prepares, presents, and submits reports to management daily, weekly, monthly, and upon request.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years related experience, publicly traded healthcare preferred, public accounting experience preferred, 3 years of managerial experience preferred.
  • Skills: Advanced Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables required, Sage Intacct and Adaptive Insights experience is a plus.
