Position Summary

The Casing Running Equipment Operator is tasked with the safe and professional operation of casing running machinery at various rig and field locations. This role also involves maintaining and repairing company equipment to ensure it meets both manufacturer and company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Tubular Running Service (TRS) Manual Handling Equipment, Power Equipment, Bucking Units, and Thread Monitoring Systems relevant to the assigned business segment.
  • Operate casing running tools, including power tongs, elevators, power slips, control panels, and hydraulic power units.
  • Utilize hand tools and operate hydraulically activated machinery.
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle various components on a drilling rig.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with all rig personnel, customers, and Parker Wellbore staff.
  • Serve as a mentor for Service Technicians I.
  • Complete delivery tickets, job reports, time-sheets, and other necessary documentation.
  • Independently test, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot company equipment and tools.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, checking tools and equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Accountable for the safe operation of all Parker Wellbore equipment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship in accordance with company expectations and customer, regulatory standards.
  • Report any hazards or deficiencies in existing controls to a supervisor promptly.
  • Make recommendations for safe job execution and report any unsafe acts or incidents.
  • Participate in all required safety meetings, training sessions, and medical evaluations.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and training before undertaking any tasks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the integrated management system by suggesting safer and more efficient work methods.
  • Maintain communication with the Operations Supervisor during standby periods to coordinate actions.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the TRS Lead or Field Service Supervisor.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Applications or relevant experience in rig operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulic and mechanical/electronic systems.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience with mechanical, electronic, or hydraulic equipment.
  • Familiarity with tubular handling equipment, including casing running tools and hydraulic power units.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and operate hydraulically activated machinery.
  • Capability to rig up, operate, and dismantle various components on a drilling rig.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Adaptability to changes in policies, procedures, and work environments.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work around moving machinery.
  • Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate machinery and power tools.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain.
  • Wear necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and use of repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders while carrying tools.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Work in hazardous environments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
