Position Overview: Responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the center, which includes the supervision, assessment, and guidance of instructional personnel. The Center Operations Manager guarantees that curriculum development, documentation, and community engagement align with established Performance Standards and State regulations. This role is accountable for managing educational resources and supplies within budgetary constraints while implementing Head Start Performance Standards. The Center Operations Manager supports the mission of the Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County by ensuring the center operates efficiently to benefit as many children and families as possible in the community.
Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD) Or Associate's Degree in a related field with 24 units in ECE or CD Plus: One year of supervisory experience Current Site Supervisor Permit or higher Three college units in Infant/Toddler education Preferred Qualifications: CLASS reliable and maintains reliability annually. Certifications: Must maintain a valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or higher. Must provide proof of completion of approved pediatric first aid and CPR training within 30 days of hire. Must complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices within 30 days of hire. Must complete Safety Training within three months of hire. Key Responsibilities: Ensures that the overall quality of the program at the center level complies with all State laws, licensing regulations, and Federal Head Start Performance Standards. Guides and monitors the implementation of Service Plans, ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Identifies training needs for instructional staff and provides necessary training, support, and evaluation for program effectiveness and professional growth. Participates in the planning and execution of training in collaboration with Area Managers and Program Specialists. Documents and tracks compliance with program requirements in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. Keeps current with CYFS Policies and Procedures to guide daily operations. Conducts monthly staff meetings, providing agendas and minutes to the Area Manager, focusing on training and planning. Ensures that the center environment is safe, developmentally appropriate, and offers diverse experiences for children. Reviews lesson plans to ensure they incorporate input from families, staff, and children. Monitors the required assessments of children as per policies and Head Start Performance Standards. Implements the program's Transition Plan for children and families. Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to implement each child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and participates in case conferencing as needed. Additional Duties: Participates in daily housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment. Orders educational supplies and instructional materials within budgetary limits. Attends monthly Parent Committee Meetings and provides planned topics for parent education. Engages in community collaborations and recruitment activities. Monitors meal times in accordance with Child and Adult Care Food Program standards. Maintains confidentiality and upholds program Standards of Conduct at all times. Completes all assigned duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office and general internet use. Ability to maintain effective working relationships and serve as a role model. Ability to supervise children and organize accurate record-keeping. Work Environment: Requires working indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with some exposure to noise. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and engage in physical activities with children. Must have corrected or uncorrected hearing and vision within normal ranges. Travel Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Additional Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must comply with health screening and background check requirements. Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background checks.
