Position Summary

The Casing Running Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in the safe and professional operation of casing running equipment across various rig and field locations. This position also involves maintaining and repairing company equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Tubular Running Service (TRS) Manual Handling Equipment, Power Equipment, Bucking Units, and Thread Monitoring Systems.
  • Operate casing running tools, including power tongs, elevators, power slips, control panels, and hydraulic power units.
  • Utilize hand tools and operate hydraulically activated machinery.
  • Set up, operate, and dismantle various components on drilling rigs.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with rig personnel, customers, and Parker Wellbore staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to Service Technicians I.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as preparing delivery tickets, job reports, and time-sheets.
  • Independently test, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot company equipment and tools.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Accountable for the safe operation of all Parker Wellbore equipment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship in accordance with company and regulatory expectations.
  • Report hazards and unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and medical checks as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting safer and more efficient work practices.
  • Maintain communication with the Operations Supervisor during standby periods.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the TRS Lead or Field Service Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in Mechanical or Electronic Applications or prior rig operations experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical/electronic systems.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience with mechanical, electronic, or hydraulic equipment.
  • Familiarity with tubular handling equipment.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and operate hydraulic equipment.
  • Capable of rigging up, running, and rigging down components on drilling rigs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Adaptability to changes in policies and work environments.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of operating machinery and power tools.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks involving standing, walking, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Ability to work in hazardous conditions and exposure to vibrations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
