POSITION SUMMARY

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Shipping Supervisor to oversee all aspects of outbound logistics. This role entails managing the shipment process, ensuring compliance with company and customer software systems, maintaining packaging material inventories, preparing products for dispatch, coordinating transportation services, and meticulously tracking shipment records. The Shipping Supervisor will also provide daily guidance to shipping personnel as necessary.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Verify shipment details by comparing identifying information and measurements against bills of lading, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Determine the most efficient shipping methods.
  • Label packed cartons accurately to reflect shipping information.
  • Assemble or select appropriate shipping containers.
  • Package items securely for transport, including shrink-wrapping and banding as required.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet customer specifications.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate forklifts and hand trucks to move shipments from the shipping area to storage or work areas.
  • Perform necessary computer and data entry tasks to track goods effectively.
  • Coordinate pick-up arrangements with carriers as specified in purchase orders.
  • Ensure the shipping area and equipment are kept clean and organized.
  • Maintain records of finished goods inventory.
  • Provide training and daily direction to Shipping Clerks.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to adhere to customer shipping instructions.
  • Update customer Routing Guides as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in shipping operations.
  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to team members.
  • Capable of answering questions and training both new and existing employees.
  • Commitment to quality and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Understanding of shipping processes and product movement.
  • Proficient in computer usage as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Accurate and timely completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Skilled in operating hand tools and machinery with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative team player contributing to organizational success.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations, with occasional risks associated with electrical equipment. The noise level may vary from moderate to loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands and fingers. Occasional requirements include climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
