What is the Opportunity?
The BSA Compliance Specialist is crucial in maintaining the integrity and reputation of our organization. This role involves overseeing fraud management and ensuring adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and Red Flag-Identity Theft regulations.

The BSA Compliance Specialist will formulate and execute strategies, policies, and procedures aimed at minimizing losses and mitigating risks associated with fraudulent activities and other unlawful actions. This team member will ensure that all relevant departments within the Credit Union are kept updated on evolving laws and procedures, implementing changes promptly and recommending enhancements to internal controls and operational processes.

What Can You Bring?
The minimum qualifications for the BSA Compliance Specialist position include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant BSA/AML experience, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of applicable governmental and financial regulations, including those from NCUA, CFPB, and FINCEN.
  • Proficiency in BSA/AML software, such as Verafin, is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP) from accredited associations are advantageous.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
