Position Summary:

The Process Engineer plays a crucial role in the design, implementation, and enhancement of manufacturing processes, ensuring the efficient and safe production of top-quality products. This position requires a thorough analysis of existing processes, pinpointing areas for enhancement, and executing solutions that align with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and refine manufacturing processes, workflows, and protocols to maximize efficiency and product quality while minimizing silica dust and emissions.
  2. Identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies in current processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  3. Analyze production metrics to uncover opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings.
  4. Engage in product and new process development initiatives, proposing innovative control methods and technologies.
  5. Recommend and implement effective manufacturing concepts and processes.
  6. Assist in determining equipment needs and specialized tooling for new product launches.
  7. Oversee the implementation and coordination of tooling revisions based on customer or product specifications.
  8. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to drive process improvements.
  9. Provide technical support and expertise to various teams as required.
  10. Participate in cross-functional projects, contributing to engineering, production, and environmental health and safety efforts.
  11. Conduct thorough analyses and research to evaluate potential impacts on job and work areas.
  12. Perform regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
  13. Carry out additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with 2-4 years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six-Sigma and/or Lean certifications are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of technical, process, and business principles, along with industry standards.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and utilize time efficiently.
  • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter hazardous conditions such as noise, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles typical of a high-traffic production floor. Physical demands include the ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
