Position Overview

Since our inception, we have been dedicated to ensuring customer safety and satisfaction. As our operations expand, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our team, focusing on Fire Suppression Systems Design and Implementation. This role will involve guiding projects from initial proposal stages through to successful installation.

Our projects primarily take place in various regions, supporting clients across multiple sectors, including Energy, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Historic Preservation, Hospitality, Educational Institutions, and Government Facilities.

If you possess a minimum of 4 years of project management experience in general commercial construction, particularly in MEP or Fire Suppression, or if you are a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer aspiring to transition into project management, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. You should be adept at interpreting construction drawings, comprehending commercial construction operations, and serving as a valuable resource for field personnel.

The Project Manager will be responsible for:
  • Conducting design constructability reviews
  • Facilitating communication between field operations teams, clients, and general contractors
  • Addressing installation challenges and conflicts on-site
  • Managing project scope, schedule, and financial aspects

Location

This position will primarily operate from our office, with travel required within the designated regions.

Responsibilities
  • Proficiently read and interpret commercial construction drawings and schedules
  • Review contracts and specifications, leading contract administration and communication with external stakeholders
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews for quality and constructability
  • Resolve conflicts among MEP subcontractor trades on-site
  • Provide field engineering support for installation operations
  • Oversee project scheduling, onsite operations planning, and material procurement
  • Review 'as-built' drawings for archival purposes
  • Understand job costs related to engineering, materials, and labor
  • Conduct method analysis reviews to enhance design and installation efficiency
  • Travel to job sites as necessary (25%-50%)
  • Mentor and provide feedback to team members

Qualifications

A degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, along with 4+ years of fire sprinkler design experience or MEP design experience with direct construction involvement. Candidates without a degree but with 5+ years in the Fire Sprinkler or MEP trade and 4 years of project management experience will also be considered.

Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, along with general computer skills, is required. Candidates should demonstrate self-discipline, motivation, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A strong work ethic and a commitment to safety are essential.
