This role is accountable for the effective functioning and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities encompass inspecting, testing, and executing system evaluations. The foreman will play a pivotal role in leading small teams of 2-3 individuals to manage tasks at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct servicing and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
  • Evaluate, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler apparatus and systems in strict compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with clients in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Provide advanced technical support for team members and clients as required.
  • Instruct trade skills to developing apprentices/helpers.
  • Complete comprehensive inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting results of work performed in a precise and timely manner.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and care for the service vehicle and all associated equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary to ensure safe operation.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, to facilitate the loading and unloading of the service vehicle while adhering to all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety guidelines.
  • Work safely as per company safety protocols, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to urgent service requests.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential systems.
  • Proficient operation of sprinkler trade tools, including but not limited to impact wrenches, band saws, measuring instruments, fitting take-outs, manual lifting devices, grooving machines, threading machines, and powered industrial lifting devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Flexibility with scheduling is required, including potential evening, weekend, and/or out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role.
Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as directed.
Physical Demands:
  • While executing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • This role also necessitates the following physical capabilities to perform essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity.
