This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective operation and upkeep of fire sprinkler systems. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, testing, and performing system evaluations. The foreman will play a crucial role in identifying system shortcomings and generating precise and timely inspection reports. This position involves leading small teams of 2-3 personnel on various customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems.
  • Conduct servicing and inspections of wet, dry, and pre-action systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in strict compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Engage with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide advanced technical support to team members and clients as required.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and helpers in trade skills.
  • Complete thorough inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting results accurately and promptly.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain the service vehicle and all related equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25.
  • Experience with both commercial and residential systems.
  • Proficient in operating sprinkler trade equipment, including impact wrenches, band saws, measuring devices, and more.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including potential evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires regular standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks, as well as occasional lifting of heavy objects.
