We are currently seeking an experienced Middle Office Loan Administrator. This position is centered on overseeing the documentation and closing procedures for commercial, business, or commercial real estate loans.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the documentation review and loan closing processes for commercial, business, or commercial real estate loans.
  • Collaborate directly with relationship managers, borrowers, legal representatives, title agencies, insurance providers, and vendors to ensure all closing requirements are fulfilled and due diligence is conducted.
  • Act as a representative of the organization when interacting with clients and external agencies.
  • Review and analyze complex loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency with credit approvals.
  • Guarantee that all documents comply with credit policies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Ensure that any waivers or deviations from policy are properly documented.
  • Instruct legal counsel to prepare loan documents in line with credit approvals and organizational requirements.
  • Engage with clients to collect, review, and distribute necessary due diligence items for loan closings.
  • Negotiate and coordinate loan documents with legal representatives.
  • Notify relevant parties of any missing items or required corrections, ensuring accuracy in the attorney closing checklist.
  • Assist relationship managers with clarifications on legal, policy, and documentation matters.
  • Confirm that budgets, escrow closing statements, and bank settlement statements are balanced, ensuring all fees and expenses are accounted for.
  • Ensure that appropriate approvals and/or waivers are obtained.
  • May provide training and mentorship to junior loan administrators.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:


A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required, along with 8+ years of experience in commercial, business, or commercial real estate documentation and closing, including at least 4 years of experience in interpreting loan and legal documentation.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

In-depth knowledge of commercial, business, or commercial real estate loan closing processes, lending compliance, regulations, loan systems, and documentation is essential.

Expertise in loan principles and processes is required.
Ability to read and interpret complex loan and legal documentation is necessary.
Extensive knowledge of construction due diligence and risk management is preferred.
Strong analytical and research skills are a must.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial.
Excellent problem-solving, auditing, customer service, and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
Ability to train and mentor less experienced loan administrators is essential.
Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgment and work independently is necessary.
Effective communication skills with clients, relationship managers, internal and external legal counsel, and credit management are vital.
Proficiency in various word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
