Commercial Loan Operations Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced Middle Office Loan Administrator. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the documentation and closing processes for commercial, business, or commercial real estate loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the review and closing processes for loan documentation pertaining to commercial, business, or commercial real estate loans.
- Collaborate directly with relationship managers, borrowers, legal representatives, title companies, insurance agents, and other vendors to ensure all closing requirements are satisfied and due diligence is thoroughly conducted.
- Act as a representative of the organization in interactions with clients and external agencies.
- Review and analyze complex loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with credit approvals.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements in all prepared documents.
- Identify potential risks and propose effective solutions.
- Document any waivers or deviations from established policies appropriately.
- Guide legal counsel in the preparation of loan documents in accordance with credit approvals and organizational requirements.
- Engage with clients to collect, review, and distribute necessary due diligence items for loan closings.
- Negotiate and coordinate loan documentation with legal representatives actively.
- Notify relevant parties of any missing items or required corrections, ensuring accuracy in the attorney closing checklist.
- Assist relationship managers with clarifications regarding legal, policy, and documentation matters that require adjustments.
- Verify that budget, escrow closing statements, and bank settlement statements are balanced, ensuring all fees and expenses are accounted for.
- Ensure that appropriate approvals and/or waivers are obtained as necessary.
- May provide training and mentorship to junior loan closers.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required, along with 8+ years of experience in commercial, business, or commercial real estate documentation and closing, including at least 4 years of experience in interpreting loan and legal documentation.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial, business, or commercial real estate loan closing processes, compliance regulations, and documentation standards.
- Expertise in loan principles and processes.
- Ability to interpret complex loan and legal documentation accurately.
- Extensive understanding of construction due diligence and risk management practices.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to mentor and train less experienced loan administrators.
- Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgment and work independently.
- Effective communication skills with clients, relationship managers, internal and external legal counsel, and credit management.
- Proficient in various word processing and spreadsheet software.
