Position Summary
The Hot Structures Design Engineer will be an integral part of the Large Military Engineering team, reporting directly to the Low Pressure Turbine Leader. This role encompasses the design, manufacturability, and integration of hot structures components within our military product lines, specifically focusing on the turbine rear frame (TRF) and associated hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze TRF LPT structure components, ensuring their structural integrity and dynamic performance through engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with military clients to innovate and enhance existing technologies for legacy products.
  • Engage in cross-functional teamwork across various engineering disciplines.
  • Develop expertise in structural engineering by working closely with senior engineers and leveraging past experiences.
  • Interface with both internal and external stakeholders, including military branches such as the United States Air Force and Navy.
  • Lead initiatives focused on safety and quality for assigned hardware.
  • Support manufacturing processes to facilitate timely engine deliveries to military clients.
  • Work alongside Project Management, Value Chain Planning, and Supply Chain teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of business objectives to guide personal contributions and team integration.
  • Exercise sound judgment in proposing solutions while drawing on prior knowledge and training to tackle straightforward challenges.
  • Contribute as an individual contributor or as an emerging leader, providing guidance to new team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in designing or manufacturing aerospace hot structures.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS and NX Unigraphics software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Capability to document, plan, and execute engineering programs effectively.
  • Established skills in project management.
