We are a reputable and busy oral and maxillofacial surgery practice seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. Our office requires someone with strong organizational and communication skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to learn quickly.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oral Surgery Assistant to support our doctors in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience as a dental implant coordinator and oral surgery assistant, with a strong background in medical terminology and computer skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning and Coordination: Understand doctor treatment recommendations and develop treatment plans from diagnosis.
  • Patient Communication: Effectively communicate treatment options to patients.
  • Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Operative Support: Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures, maintain an unobstructed operative field, and obtain and inspect sterile or nonsterile surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Radiology and Imaging: Obtain dental radiographs and digital imaging.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete patient clinical narratives.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required, BLS certification required or the ability to complete within 1 month of hire, at least one year of related experience preferred, and radiology certification required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Basic computer knowledge, basic knowledge of medical terminology, ability to work well in a team or individually, good judgment and critical thinking skills, passion for keeping people safe, excellent manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulous care on the job, and superior listening skills with the ability to quickly comprehend instructions in emergency situations.
