Job Summary

The Event Operations Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of events at Mount Auburn Cemetery. This position is responsible for setting up and breaking down event spaces, transporting equipment, and assisting with the management of event supplies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and break down event spaces, including tables, chairs, and tents, to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
  • Transport event equipment and supplies to and from locations throughout the cemetery campus.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of event supplies, including receiving and assembling new equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests and colleagues, responding to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the Event Operations Supervisor to ensure events meet or exceed expectations.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Event Operations Supervisor or other management staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Language fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience organizing schedules and managing multiple tasks is preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain a professional outlook under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be patient, energetic, creative, and flexible to adapt to changing work demands.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands
  • Traverse all areas of the cemetery, including chapels, greenhouses, administration buildings, and cemetery grounds, in various weather conditions.
  • Consistently work outdoors, remaining in a stationary position in variable weather conditions.
  • Heavy work that includes moving, adjusting, or carrying objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Operate company vehicles, including cars, vans, trucks, and all-terrain work vehicles.
  • Consistently work in all weather conditions, including cold, heat, snow, rain, and other harsh weather.
