SECTOR: Accounting/Finance

As a Lead Financial Consultant, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to provide essential services to our clients, management, business owners, and others responsible for governance in privately held companies, non-profit organizations, government entities, employee benefit plans, and individuals. The Lead Financial Consultant will deliver accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services in accordance with established firm guidelines and with minimal oversight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Lead Financial Consultant:

Generally, approximately 80% - 85% of your time will be dedicated to the following tasks, which include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting planning and fieldwork procedures in accounting and auditing engagements (including client inquiries, analytics, and testing).
  • Preparing comprehensive financial statements.
  • Completing federal and state income tax returns for corporations, individuals, partnerships, fiduciaries, trusts, estates, and non-profits.
  • Handling any necessary governmental filings.
  • Performing essential accounting functions, including bookkeeping and reconciliations.
  • Researching accounting and tax standards and relevant legislation.
  • Enhancing communication skills with internal teams and management.
  • Beginning to establish relationships with clients, potentially serving as the primary contact.
  • Supervising staff accountants and interns on assigned projects.

The remaining 15% - 20% of your time will likely be allocated to the following activities:

  • Engaging in firm-directed continuing professional education (CPE) and on-the-job training.
  • Networking and business development initiatives.
  • Participating in in-house projects (committees, working groups, etc.).
  • Mentoring and training newer staff members.

COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $85,000 Annually

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidates for the Lead Financial Consultant role must possess a B.S. in Accounting or a closely related field. A Master of Science in Taxation (MST), Master of Science in Accounting (MSA), or other relevant graduate degree is preferred. A minimum of 150 relevant credit hours (as required for the CPA Exam) is necessary, and candidates should be on the CPA career track, actively working towards obtaining their CPA License.
  • A foundational understanding of accounting principles is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must; candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and eager to learn.
  • The ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment is crucial.
  • Integrity and the capacity to manage confidential information are vital for this position.
  • Client interaction is expected, and effective communication with client personnel and management is necessary.
  • The Lead Financial Consultant will work a standard day shift in an office setting. Travel or alternative work schedules may be required based on client needs.
  • This position is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. A valid driver’s license is also required.
