Overview


The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in guiding management through financial insights, strategic budgeting, and forecasting, while fostering collaboration across various business sectors.

This position aids the Manager in evaluating the performance metrics of Ranpak's operations through comprehensive monthly analyses, essential performance indicators, forecasting, annual budgeting, and a long-term strategic roadmap.

This role is dedicated to enhancing financial analysis tools, reporting mechanisms, and controls, ensuring all timelines are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasting and Strategic Planning
oAssists in crafting both short-term and long-term business forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

oContributes to the establishment of a rolling forecast system and its ongoing assessment.

oParticipates in the annual budgeting process through target establishment and evaluation of business unit contributions.

oExamines budgets for reasonableness and alignment with overall financial goals.

oEnhances the use of data tools and methodologies to improve business planning and precision.

  • Provides Analytical Insights for Business Partners


oDelivers meaningful analytics to illuminate business and macroeconomic trends, aiding management in decision-making through critical financial reports, including pricing and volume analysis, expense assessments, and detailed product profitability metrics.

oAssists in formulating key performance indicators to support decision-makers within business units.

oRecognizes data-driven trends and discrepancies to facilitate discussions on profitability focal points.

  • Influences and Directs Major Business Decisions
oCollaborates with stakeholders across the global organization to ensure precise financial reporting processes and robust internal controls.


oWorks throughout the organization to standardize and enhance the efficiency of Ranpak's forecasting and budgeting practices, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.



  • Enhances and Streamlines Process Efficiency
oImplements continuous improvements in the budgeting and monthly forecasting processes to simplify and reduce the overall planning cycle time.

oUtilizes knowledge of systems and processes to guide cross-functional teams on suitable data sources for analysis.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline
  • Progress towards or plans to obtain an MBA
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance
  • Experience in mid-size to large public companies preferred
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Solid understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow relationships
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to convert data into actionable insights
  • Highly organized, methodical thinker capable of managing competing priorities and making decisions under pressure while delivering accurate, timely, high-quality work
  • A collaborative team player with a customer-centric approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Preferred proficiency in Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, and INFOR LN or other cloud-based ERP systems
