Position Overview

As a Project Engineer at Enprotech, you will be engaged in various projects from inception to completion. Your responsibilities will include conducting project assessments, structuring components, and developing shop routers. For new parts and equipment, you will employ design elements using Solidworks to create models and drawings. For repair and rebuild tasks, you will apply engineering principles to evaluate worn and damaged components, devising plans to restore them to original specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and customers to generate engineered work scopes and labor/material estimates.
  • Develop repair solutions, enhancements, and new design concepts for existing heavy manufacturing machinery.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, coordinating resources effectively.
  • Interact with purchasing, sales, and production teams on a daily basis.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks software.
  • Ability to create and modify prints to align with manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles as they apply to mechanical systems.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in managing production aspects, including selection of manufacturing methods and operation of product designs.
  • Competence in estimating costs and preparing bids for engineering solutions.
  • Skills in overseeing installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Ability to recommend design modifications to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Capability to analyze customer design proposals and specifications to assess feasibility and maintenance requirements.

Education and Experience

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Previous experience in steel, rebuilding, or machine shop environments is advantageous.
